Born in São Paulo, Quico Meirelles majored in Audiovisual Arts at the University of São Paulo’s School of Communications and Arts. His short film thesis, A Galinha que Burlou o Sistema (The Chicken Who Beat the System), was co-produced by O2 Filmes, and has appeared in more than 120 film festivals in Brazil and around the world, winning 33 awards.
He created and was the lead director of the 2014 Globo series Os Experientes (The Wise Ones), nominated for the Best TV / Mini-Series Award at Emmy International 2016, and also directed the 2014 Globo series Lili, a Ex (Lili, the Ex), the 2013 Fox seriesContos do Edgar (Tales of Edgar) and the 2012 Discovery Channel series Trabalho Duro (Hard Work). In addition to this, he has worked on the feature films Blindness (2008), Som e Fúria (The Sound and the Fury) (2009), Xingu (2011) and 360 (2011).
In advertising, he’s directed the successful Vivo “Redhead" campaign, and has been the finalist twice for the Professional of the Year Award in the National Campaign category (2012 and 2013) for his Ipiranga commercials.
