Luciano Moura

Luciano Moura was born in São Paulo but lives in Rio de Janeiro where he entered the world of visual arts at an early age as a still photographer. He then worked as an assistant director and began his career as a director with the short film "Os Moradores da Rua Humboldt (The Residents of Humboldt Street)". This film was selected as Best Film in the Havana, Cartagena, and Rio Cine Film Festivals; was awarded Best Film by the audience at Upsala, Sweden and was an Official Selection for the New York International Film Festival, among others. He was also one of the directors for the documentary Todos os Corações do Mundo (Two Billion Hearts), the official FIFA film of the 1994 World Cup. As a director at O2 Filmes, he directs commercials and works of fiction. In his commercial work he has collaborated with the Almap, DPZ, Africa, Y&R, DM9, and Lowe advertising agencies, among others, having made more than 500 commercials for clients such as Itaú, VW, Ambev, Toyota, Telefonica and Unilever. In terms of fictional works, Luciano has directed two episodes of the series Filhos do Carnaval (Carnival's Sons), a co-production between O2 Filmes and HBO, as well as the first episode of Antônia, a co-production between O2 Filmes and TV Globo. His first feature film 'Father's Chair' premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2012, and has brazilian premiere scheduled for March 2013.
