Andrea Barata Ribeiro is one of the founding partners at O2 Filmes. With a degree in social communication, she has produced the feature films City of God, Maids, Speaker Phone, Not by Chance, City of Men, Blindness, Xingu, A Busca (The Search), and A Noite da Virada (New Year’s Eve), Adrift, and ZOOM, among others. For TV, she’s produced four seasons of City of Men and two seasons of Antonia and Som e Fúria (The Sound and the Fury), as well as Felizes para Sempre? (Happily Ever After?) and Os Experientes (The Ones with Experience) all for the Globo Network, as well as Filhos do Carnaval (Sons of Carnival), A Vaga (The Spot), and the Destino (Destination) series, among others, for HBO. In 2005, Variety named her one of the 5 most influential female producers in the world. Currently she’s producing the second season of A Vaga (The Spot) and the third season of the Destino (Destination) series, as well as the feature films Malasartes e o Duelo com a Morte (Malasartes and the Duel with Death) by Paulo Morelli, and the documentaries Exodus and O Sentido da Vida (The Meaning of Life).
