At 41 years of age, recognized as a national and international star, the actor Wagner Moura is trying out the role of cinema director, and talks about this new experience and states, even though he values his privacy, that he doesn’t separate his private life from his public life. Here are some excerpts from Tuesday night’s Conversa com Bial (Talking with Bial).
His debut as a director begins with Marighella’s story
“He’s a figure who’s been erased from our history. I’ve always been curious about the universe of the dictatorship. My generation was anesthetized by the dictatorship from the start. And I’ve also always been interested in the lives of people who decide to do something that they shouldn’t.”
“I’m being a bit pretentious, but I’m going to make a great film. It’s my first film and I turned down an invitation from Hollywood, because at the moment this is one of my commitments in life.”
