During the 2018 Berlinale Festival, with the whole international market present, the Globo Network presented a panel of 12 series co-produced by the broadcaster together with Brazilian production companies. The event was organized by the network’s executives and the series presented included Happily Ever After?, Vade Retro, City of Men, 13 Dias longe do Sol (13 Days far from the Sun) and The Wise Ones, all co-productions between Globo and O2 Filmes.
The magazine Variety published this review of the presentation:
“Of the 12 series presented, this revolution reveals itself in various ways. The majority of the shows are co-productions with the biggest and best film production companies in Brazil, five with Fernando Meirelles’s O2 Filmes (Happily Ever After?, Vade Retro, City of Men, 13 Dias longe do Sol (13 Days far from the Sun), The Wise Ones, one with Conspiração Filmes (Under Pressure) and another with Gullane (Jailers). These production companies have been responsible for many of the most important international productions in cinema ranging from City of God to The Second Mother. They are now part of the revolution in international TV standards.”
