Now that the London Olympic Games have ended, international attention turns to the next Summer Olympics which will be held in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro.
In every country, athletes and their coaches have resumed their training and are planning their strategies for their particular events to maximize their performance at the next Games.
For us, the task will be greater: to concentrate our energy and efforts in the preparation of the big event. The results achieved at the London Games show that good performances can be obtained by athletes from outside the main urban centers of the country. Federations, governmental bodies and advertisers will need to look at this group of athletes, who were unknown a short time ago, especially since they made us feel so much emotion during the London Games.
Constructing the infrastructure necessary for the Olympics is a very large task, and it’s important that we reexamine the commitments that we have made. It was an O2 production that presented the Brazilian proposal for the Games and won approval.
