Max Calligaris, is a French director, screenwriter and producer based in Brazil. Specializing in Advertising and Marketing in France, he holds a master’s degree in New Media from New School (New York, USA) with a focus on narrative and documentary fiction.

He is the principal director and associate producer of the Psi series (HBO). The series, which is in its fourth season, received nominations for Best Drama Series (2015), Best Actor (2015) and Best Actress (2018) at the International Emmy Awards. It is one of the most awarded Brazilian series, winning 12 victories at the Telly Awards. His role as an associate producer in the series includes: creative design, participation in the script development process, supervision of pre and post production.

Max Calligaris also directed an episode of the Amigo de Rental series in 2018 shown on Universal TV. The plot is about a traumatized theater actor who offers services as a rental friend and becomes part of a scheme with his former agent to make money.

In 2019, he directed the second season of the series O Escolhido, produced by Netflix Brasil with actresses Paloma Bernardi and Gisele Itiê in the cast. The series revolves around three doctors sent to a remote village in the Pantanal in order to vaccinate their residents against the Zika virus, but end up isolated in a community full of secrets.
